About

New & Continuing Product Engineering. Compliance & Verification. Failure Analysis & Documentation. Analog and digital circuits, PCBs design & modification. Programming in C & Labview. Modified and improved surge protection, power allocation, DC/DC converter circuits and made mechanical changes as a result of HALT/HASS testing on a BMS (Battery Management System). Wrote comprehensive LRU tests for FUJI linear motor rail car door. Wrote comprehensive LRU tests for Toshiba 15KW 600 VDC to 120V AC Inverter. Created test programs using National Instruments Teststand, CVI, and Labview. Produced design reviews to help engineers increase the fault coverage of Boundary Scan tests Wrote application notes and procedures for Boundary Scan software product. Helped customers complete Formal Verification of over two dozen ASIC designs and FPGA designs Debugged Verilog and VHDL ASIC designs at RTL and gate level. Analyzed Verilog, EDIF and gatelevel netlists to solve device initialization and internal race problems. Helped customers identify design issues which would impact FPGA to ASIC conversion. Helped engineers trace FPGA device failures to design issues or bad silicon. Helped customers create standard rules for testability and coverage for JTAG and ICT (Incircuit) Testing. Reviewed PCB designs prior to layout, to determine test coverage and optimal placement of test points. Created custom PCBs using Orcad, Schema, Multisim and Pulsonix. Wrote Software in Assembly Language, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Delphi/Pascal. Designed low level analog measurement circuits and high voltage power supplies Designed graphics board and embedded microprocessor circuits, for an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Modified and improved design of a commercial flight simulator and helped bring it successfully into production. Designed custom high-volume PC based test sets for an RF based ERS (Emergency Response System) Tested and debugged video special effects generators Tested and tuned microwave strip line and waveguide components.

Designed a compact 2 box electronics support subsystem for the NASA Airspec project. Airspec is an airborne spectrometer designed to gather data during the 2017 solar eclipse. The subsystem consisted of network routers, high speed data acquisition, cameras, and a high speed mirror controller. I was responsible for all electronic subsystems, power supplies and wiring lists. I created and submitted formal FAA documentation to assure compliance with FAA requirements. Also did a preliminary design for the Arcus project which consisted of a hardened micro-controller based 40 channel D/A and A/D which also included 20 solid state switch channels. Arcus is a high resolution X-ray grating spectrometer which will be attached to the International Space Station.
