I was responsible for driving all phases of assigned projects, from conception to completion, including project initiation, consultant selection, design, bidding, construction, and post-construction. To ensure success, I coordinated closely with other county department managers and representatives on new construction and/or alterations to existing facilities. As part of this, I engaged with county employees and/or managers to identify space and function needs of proposed projects and carried out feasibility studies and research to determine project requirements, options, and costs for proposed facility modifications. To manage the projects effectively, I defined project budgets and schedules, and closely monitored, managed, and met approved budgets and schedules. I created RFQs and negotiated as well as administered consultant contracts. Additionally, I prepared plans and specifications that meet project requirements and comply with county standards. As part of this, I produced cost estimates for projects and provided recommendations to meet project budgets.
