Prior to the project a fundraising target of £15,000 was required.During my time at the school my responsibilities involved the planning and executing of lessons including cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. In addition to this I ran an after school reading club which included choosing appropriate books, organizing activities and assessing the students’ progress.

project manager
esv reading project
Having recognized a need for more volunteer support in local schools I approached Stoke Hill School to offer them an after school club run by student volunteers. They enthusiastically accepted my offer so I created a reading club programme targeted at giving the opportunity of extra-curricular support to students from less affluent backgrounds. I then linked the school with the University of Exeter's Volunteer Society, Exeter Student Volunteers, and gave them the necessary details to appoint project volunteers. The programme ran for the first time this past academic year and has been a huge success leading to its continuation for next year.
