Manager of Policy Development at Alberta Education and Childcare.

As a Manager in the Project Management and Integration branch within the System Refocusing Division at Alberta Health, I lead a team of senior policy advisors to support the overall system refocusing initiative. Within this role, the team and I provide Secretariat support to numerous committees with both internal and external stakeholders, requiring strong political acumen and strategic insight.

As the Issues Manager in the Deputy Minister's Office at Public Safety and Emergency Services (PSES), I provided daily issues management and strategic support across the department. I collaborated often with Minister's Office, other DMOs, the divisions within PSES, and with colleagues across the GoA. Notably, I supported the GoA's response to the Alberta 2023 Hazard Season.

Supported and lead the creation of Mental Health and Addiction's first Committee of Supply materials and Business Plan by coordinating with colleagues across the department. As the department was relatively new, I also supported the establishment of various processes within the department while considering legislative and operational alignment.

As an Intergovernmental Officer of Federal-Provincial Relations in Executive Council, I supported Alberta's mandate at the Council of the Federation and the New West Partnership forums. I also tracked and provided recommendations and relevant insight on nation-wide intergovernmental issues and analysed their impact on the Government of Alberta.

As an intern in the Policy Coordination Office in Executive Council, I developed considerable knowledge and understanding of the internal policy process within the GoA while supporting numerous policy projects as they were slated for policy committee and Cabinet approval.
