• Perform Corrosion Growth Rate Analysis using data from in-line inspections and field excavations. • Determine future integrity of pipelines by performing anomaly growth and remaining life assessments, using modified B31g in various methodologies (deterministic analysis, probability of exceedance (POE) and Monte Carlo simulations). • Evaluate ILI tool performance by comparing to NDE and other ILI data to determine POD, POFC, and POI statistics. • Model ultrasonic waves and magnetic field behavior to study ways of improving US and MFL ILI tools. • Improve procedures for performing SCC direct assessment, in order to determine the optimal number of excavations necessary to have sufficient confidence in results without performing unnecessary digs. • Knowledge of pipeline standards and regulations such as CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8. • Perform gap analysis to ensure that pipeline procedures conform to current pipeline regulations. • Evaluate new technologies developed by third-party companies. • Set up and operate experimental apparatus for testing new MFL technology, constructing an Arduino-based data acquisition system. • Analyze data using Matlab/Octave.

• Perform pipeline inspections as Project Leader for caliper/geometry and MFL inspection tools. • Perform pre-job planning and risk assessment. • Assist in preparation and testing of inspection tools. • Gather required data from GIS databases and as-built drawings. • Perform ILI surveys in the field, verify data and prepare field reports. • Train others in analysis procedures and use of software.

• Prepare engineering assessments for companies prior to changes in their pipeline system. • Analyze pipeline assets and prepare pipeline assessments recommending proper procedures for operating the system safely and in compliance with current regulations. • Gather data through field visits, government regulators and third-party databases.

• Design, test and perform field trials of the Smartball leak detection system, which is capable of locating very small leaks in both water and oil pipelines. • Design and test software for analyzing data from Smartball.

• Perform pipeline inspections as Project Leader for caliper/geometry and MFL inspection tools. • Verify data from pipeline inspections in the field. • Perform analysis of data from pipeline inspections and prepare reports for clients. • Gather required data from GIS databases and as-built drawings. • Present results to clients and provide training in the use of BJ’s software. • Train new employees in processing data and writing reports.
