About
I'm a product line manager with 15+ years of experience building apparel brands from the ground up — taking product from concept to consumer with a hands-on approach across every stage of the creation process. Most recently I built and led the private label apparel division at Tactics Boardshop, one of the country's top specialty retailers. Starting from almost nothing, I grew the line from ~$200K to ~$1M in annual revenue, making it the #1 men's apparel brand in the shop and 10% of total company revenue. I owned everything — line planning, creative direction, design, sourcing, development, production, and go-to-market — across 100–120 SKUs per season. Before Tactics I spent nine years at Airblaster Snowboard Outerwear managing a ~100 SKU technical line of waterproof outerwear and performance activewear, with regular factory travel throughout Asia for development and QC. My background spans performance apparel, technical and waterproof outerwear, activewear, sportswear, and hardgoods. I'm equally comfortable building a brand story and writing a tech pack. I've managed factories in Asia, sourced across domestic and international markets, and conducted ~80% of my early career production communication in Spanish. I'm currently available for full-time roles and select freelance engagements. If you're looking for a PLM who can own a product line end-to-end and deliver results, let's talk. 📩 joe@torseygarmentco.com | 🌐 joetorsey.com

I run Torsey Garment Co as an outsourced product creation department for small to mid-size brands — stepping in wherever a brand needs support across the full product lifecycle. I've worked with clients across apparel, hardgoods, and lifestyle categories including Ride Snowboards, BearSkn, Timberline Lodge, See See Motorcycles, Winterhaus Studios, and Torment Magazine. Services include line planning, design, tech pack development, sourcing, vendor management, sampling, and production oversight. I operate lean and move fast — the same way a founder would.

Brand Product Manager
Portland, OR
I was brought in to build a private label apparel and hardgoods brand from nearly nothing inside one of the country's top specialty retailers. Over five years I grew the line from ~$200K to ~$1M in annual revenue, making it the #1 men's apparel brand in the shop and 10% of total company revenue. I owned the entire product creation process — line planning, creative direction, design, tech packs, sourcing, development, production, and go-to-market — across 100–120 SKUs per season. Categories included performance apparel, seam-sealed waterproof outerwear, skate-inspired lifestyle product, and hardgoods. I managed ~10 domestic and international manufacturers per season and supervised graphic designers and external creative collaborators.

Product Manager / Sourcing Manager
Portland, OR
For nine years I managed the full product line at Airblaster, an independent snowboard outerwear brand known for technical craft and irreverent brand identity. I owned a ~100 SKU seasonal line of seam-sealed waterproof outerwear and performance activewear — handling everything from line planning and technical design through sourcing, development, QC, and import logistics. I traveled frequently to Asia for factory visits, hands-on QC inspections, and fit sessions, building long-term relationships with manufacturers across the region. Single annual season cycle — no room for mistakes, and no excuses.

Accounts Manager
Massive Prints
Compton, CA
Managed sales and production coordination for a major apparel screen printer in Los Angeles serving leading action sports and fashion brands including Volcom, Quiksilver, Rusty, and Forever 21. I was responsible for both the client relationship and getting orders through the factory — which meant spending most of my day on the production floor communicating with print and warehouse teams in Spanish. It's where I got my hands dirty and learned the fundamentals of how apparel actually gets made. These are written to be copied straight into LinkedIn. Want me to adjust the tone or length on any of them?
