I was responsible for the daily operations of all traffic functions. While supervisor, the unit was recognized as the Best Motorcycle Unit in the State of Florida in 2014. I am recognized as a trailblazer in pedestrian traffic issues and spoke at two national conferences. Took part in a NHTSA pedestrian study on HVE. I coordinated multiple traffic plans with the United States Secret Service for dignitary visits, coordinated a Police motorcycle competition including setting up websites, vendors and volunteers. I wrote multiple State Traffic grants to assist with operations and technology upgrades. I worked within budget parameters and purchasing guidelines to satisfy city and state requirements. Under my leadership, I coordinated with other departments accomplishing a 5-year reduction in crashes. I managed fatal crash investigations, approved fatal crash reports and coordinated state attorney review.

I was responsible for the agency budget, budget increments and capitol improvement plans, budget forecasting and five year budget plan. Responsible for agency’s emergency operations planning and management. Coordinated agencies Federal and State grants, wrote and was awarded multiple state and federal grants with over $1,000,000 awarded. Responsible for recruiting outreach, managed police testing for new hires, managed agency promotional processes and responsible for onboarding all staff. Served as a liaison with the City Equal Opportunity Office and Human Resources, Served as the agency contact for all City Risk Management. I was the Point of contact for Federal and State surplus.
