From June 2015 through May 2019, I represented District 10 on the City of Austin Human Rights Commission, working with my fellow commissioners to advise and counsel the City of Austin on all matters involving racial, religious, and ethnic discrimination, and devising practices to promote equal opportunity. It was my honor to represent District 10 under two different City Council members.

I was assigned to NSA for the entirety of my post-training time in the United States Army. During my tenure, in addition to working as a SIGINT intercept analyst, I co-developed and led training for the Agency's Global Language Proficiency Program (GLPP), which provided remedial language training to subproficient linguists across all military branches. For my work at NSA, I was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal.

As a SIGINT analyst and translator, I provided real-time decryption, translation, and analysis of communications across a variety of media, including both print and electronic. The majority of my time in service was spent in a strategic assignment at National Security Agency (see above) through the 741st Military Intelligence Battalion. I graduated with honors from the Army's Primary Leadership Development Course, obtaining the rank of sergeant (E-5), and also completed multiple professional courses in language and cryptology through NSA's National Cryptologic School, the Defense Language Institute, and Berlitz, including all courses required for civilian certification as an Arabic linguist at NSA. As a noncommissioned officer, I also provided basic leadership, mentoring, and training support to my battalion. I accomplished all of this while also taking on-campus and remote coursework through UMGC (see Education below), and as a result I received my bachelor's degree within one week of the end of my Army enlistment.
