Managed engineering departments of three SBUs; APD in Novi, Michigan, Codespear in Birmingham, Michigan and Industrial Products in University Park, Illinois. -APD designs and builds custom access control and revenue collection hardware and software systems architected for use on wide area networks -Codespear creates cloud based mass notification systems with application software packages and hardware that link mobile and desktop devices -Industrial Products creates audible and visual signaling and warning systems for hazardous industrial, petrochemical and coal mining applications -Acquired skills in managing both software teams and hardware engineers and software and hardware , projects and product lines

Promoted to Vice President of Engineering with 36 subordinates. The position reported directly to the Division President and responsibilities included budget planning and tracking, product roadmap planning, research and design, new product development and sustaining engineering activities. -This team released over 70 new products and line extensions per year and exceeded the corporate goal of achieving a ratio of greater than 30% of gross sales from new products. -Managed technologies included switching power supplies, non-imaging optics, speaker and siren amplifier design, injection molded plastics, extrusions, die casting, sheet metal, firmware and application software.

Channel includes B2C sales directly to large municipalities, state highway fleets and federal government fleets and B2B sales through distribution to smaller and mid-sized municipalities and private security firms. -Responsible for process improvements in market coverage planning, sales team compensation, channel strategies, new product development, sustaining engineering, customer care, growth strategies and strategic planning -Departments reporting to the position include Sales, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Customer Support and Engineering -Established new vehicle upfitting business model to strengthen the company’s position in the channel, improve customer interaction and grow high potential distributors -Position reports directly to the Division President with financial responsibility for sales margins, SG&A expenses/budgets and operating income.
