Graduate of the Woolworths Management Trainee Programme. Assistant Manager in a number of stores across the South East. Involved in store openings and refurbishments. Member of a small team of managers used to 'blitz' under-performing stores and raise standards.

Experienced Enforcement Officer specialising in 'non-food' enforcement. Investigations and projects on areas including Trade Descriptions offences, counterfeiting, scams, consumer credit and consumer safety.

National Trading Standards delivers national and regional consumer protection enforcement. Its Board is made up of senior and experienced heads of local government trading standards from around England and Wales with an independent Chair. Its purpose is to protect consumers and safeguard legitimate businesses by tackling serious national and regional consumer protection issues and organised criminality and by providing a “safety net” to limit unsafe consumer goods entering the UK and protecting food supplies by ensuring the animal feed chain is safe. In addition to being board member for the South East region, I chair the National Estate Agency Governance Group.

Delivering organisation wide projects and initiatives regarding customer service development, community consultation and engagement activities. Specific areas covered include mystery shopping, customer journey mapping, Charter Mark and CSE applications, customer segmentation and access channel analysis. All projects managed to PRINCE2 methodologies.

Highly qualified Consumer Advisor with extensive knowledge of consumer civil law and associated case law. Used to helping both consumers and business to understand their civil law rights and responsibilities. Assisted vulnerable consumers by actively progressing their disputes, whilst identifying any breaches of criminal legislation.

Trading Standards South East is a partnership of 19 local authority Trading Standards Services in the South East, created to share ideas and expertise in all areas of Trading Standards work. We share resources and work together to achieve greater results, reduce costs and influence the wider community. My role includes acting as the Accountable Executive Member for intel, providing a link between the Board and our Intel Focus Group, as well as other regional and national forums.

* As a member of the Trading Standards Leadership Team my principal duties included: * Management of the Support Services Team * Co-ordinating service plans and quarterly reporting * Providing performance management information * Overseeing capital and revenue resources * Acting as a link between Trading Standards and other county council services * Promoting and co-ordinating internal and external communications * Developing of a customer focussed service * Promoting the ICT strategy and the use of ICT throughout the Service * Developing an intelligence-led service, based on the National Intelligence Model * I led on a number of projects to ensure that the service is as efficient and as effective as possible.
