Planned and produced a series of speakers and performers, managing the publicity and marketing as well as the annual budget. Served as the public relations director, securing the approvals, support, and participation of both internal and external individuals and organizations that are essential to a successful venture. Solicited additional funding from local businesses and corporations, as well as state and local funding agencies. Assumed the role of facility director, assembling and directing the staff and equipment necessary to support the proposed program; managed security and logistics; mediated the inevitable conflicts with agents, performers, staff, community, other events, et al. Worked closely with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and chaired an Advisory Committee to ensure that what we undertook fell within our long-range goals and policies and represented the best interests not only of the University but of the community we served.

Worked with graduate assistants and members of the Student Union Board to produce a series of events throughout the school year. Served as advisor to the students and as their liaison with the Director of Campus Life and Student Affairs. While serving in this capacity, I was awarded a grant from Meet the Composer in New York to commission a new work by jazz artist Hamiet Bluiett. His work was presented at a Jazz Festival I produced on behalf of the University's Alumni Association.

Coordinated University Lecture Series, assisted the Vice President for Administration with special projects, serving as staff to university committees and writing reports.

Arts Junction is a not-for-profit organization founded to create touring projects for jazz artists, including performances and educational activities, and to assist in fund raising to support these projects.

Served as project leader and coordinator for special projects such as the 10-year and five-year self-studies of the University's Athletic Department for the NCAA. Assisted the President and his Cabinet in developing a strategic plan related to the overall mission and vision of the University. In this multi-year planning process, I coordinated the work of nine task force committees charged with setting major goals to be included in the "Plan for Excellence," sharing responsibility with an outside consultant in writing the final report. Researched, drafted, and prepared reports for issues affecting the campus community such as the potential need for a University Ombudsman, a policy and guidelines for Records Management and a Disaster Recovery Plan. Researched, prepared and monitored grant applications for a variety of University and community projects. Wrote speeches, introductions of speakers, and prepared correspondence relating to fund raising or public relations for President and Vice Presidents, as well as initiating my own correspondence regarding those same activities.
