Matthew Fitzsimons

I am currently working as General Manager Technical at the MTi Group. Driving product development, production and service technology initiatives and supporting international business expansion.

I moved to Perth in 2018 and joined Multotec Australia as Product Technology Manager. My responsibilities included assisting the Managing Director with defining long and medium term technology strategies as well as managing and executing prioritised projects. My role later expanded to include managing the mill linings product line for Australia.

I joined Multotec as Technical Manager in 2011. My responsibilities included managing the design office, R&D and quality teams as well as standards and compliance of the production assets. My role was to ensure the comminution mill liners supplied met customer requirements as well as managing projects which improved the service offering of the company.

In 2008 I was hired as an Engineering Specialist at Murray and Roberts Steel where I managed a R&D department and production facilities. I ran numerous projects spanning various disciplines such as product development, capital asset management and production optimisation.

I began my career at the CSIR in the Defence Aeronautics division where I worked my way up from Design Engineer to Facility Expert. Notable achievements during this time were project managing the upgrade of the High Angle of Attack capability in the Transonic Wind Tunnel Facility and being nominated for a Technological Scientific Excellence Award as part of the Continuous Force Development & HAOA Capability Testing Team.
