Associate Director, Nonclinical & Translational Development @ Terrestrial

About

I'm a nonclinical and translational development leader with deep expertise across PK/PD, toxicology, immunogenicity, and IND-enabling strategy, applied to peptides, biologics, and advanced delivery platforms. In my current role, I drive much of the nonclinical and translational development behind microneedle-based delivery of GLP-1 therapeutics, advancing programs from early development toward first-in-human. I own significant portions of our PK/PD, toxicology, immunogenicity, and IND-enabling work — designing and overseeing GLP toxicology and PK studies, serving as study director on nonclinical PK, managing the CRO partnerships that execute them, and authoring the preclinical study reports and CTD Module 2 and 4 sections behind our IND submissions. Underneath the development work is a PhD-level foundation in immunology. I use it to assess on- and off-target immunogenicity risk across modalities — peptides, proteins, VLPs, and nucleic-acid platforms — and to turn that into strategy that de-risks programs and sharpens clinical decisions. It's the through-line connecting where I started to the work I do now. What I bring: Nonclinical & translational development — integrating PK/PD, toxicology, and immunogenicity to move programs efficiently from preclinical through first-in-humanIND-enabling execution — study design, data integration, preclinical study reports, and CTD Module 2/4 authoringCRO selection & oversight — running external partners to deliver high-quality, on-time data across complex programsImmunogenicity & modality expertise — applying deep immunology to risk assessment across therapeutics and vaccinesTeam & cross-functional leadership — building high-performing teams and partnering across research, clinical, regulatory, and CMC to hit milestones What I enjoy most is the point where rigorous science meets execution — turning complex biology into development plans that actually move new therapies toward patients. Always glad to connect with others working in translational and nonclinical development, advanced delivery, or metabolic disease.

I led a team of research associates in the design, execution, and interpretation of pre-clinical experiments to advance and mature a collection of pipeline programs based on novel MAPS vaccines. In particular, my team contributed significantly to our C. difficile, Oncology, and viral pipeline programs in pursuit of pre-clinical proof of concept and to support IND-enabling studies. My team's expertise included immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry, ELISpot, etc), bacterial and mammalian cell culture, and in vivo study design / execution. We worked closely with our platform teams to achieve company goals and thrive in the congenial, collaborative environment.

My research focused on developing modern molecular tools in the genetically recalcitrant C. trachomatis as a strategy to better probe the host's T-cell response to chronic infections.

As a member of Dr. Daniel Portnoy's lab, I managed three successful projects investigating how the foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes senses and responds to its human host during infection. This work led to four peer-reviewed publications (one in preparation), and one patent. During this time, I also mentored two graduate students, two undergraduates, and one high school student in experimental design, project management, and career development. I was also an active participant and leader in three graduate groups, two career development clubs, an undergraduate mentoring program, and multiple extracurricular organizations.
