Jiquan Liu

Dr. Jiquan Liu is an accomplished Principal Scientist and Consultant with over 40 years of global expertise in industrial microbiology. Holding a PhD from Kyoto University, his distinguished career includes executive leadership roles at P&G, where he served as Director of the P&G Asia Microbiology Department, leading organization building and operational management across Innovation Centers in Singapore, Japan, and China. A visionary leader, Dr. Liu spearheaded new capability building by developing multiple rapid microbial detection methods, discovering novel antimicrobial ingredients with deep mechanistic understanding, and establishing cutting-edge microbiome research and application capabilities via Connect & Development (C&D). He directed global microbial operations, designed preservation systems that enabled over 300 product launches across 50+ countries, and resolved dozens of critical industrial contamination crises. Leveraging extensive experience as a committee member for industry bodies in Japan and China, he currently provides independent consulting services to help organizations optimize product safety, microbiome innovation, and supply chain compliance.
