Founded Ixydo, a technical operations outfit, in 2013 to provide professional infrastructure and web technical operations services. Working both in the public and private sectors we provide on-site operations engineers to work closely with your teams to do anything from bootstrap your continuous integration and deployment workflows to develop and maintain your large scale infrastructure. Prior to founding Ixydo, Jinn worked in both startup and corporate environments, building and maintaining both teams and environments from zero to dozens of people and thousands of servers. Clients include: - MonolithAI where we established their infrastructure to AWS Well-Architected Framework guidelines. - RKR Epsilon where we provided cloud migration services and Machine Learning infrastructure - Government Digital Service where Jinn served as an interim technical lead of a WebOps team - DriverExchange where we're providing ongoing Site Reliability Engineering for this growing startup - Journal of Chinese Medicine has been a long-term client of Jinn's and we've seen them through several overhauls through the years

At this rapidly growing and successful start-up was responsible for the full project life cycle: from initial scoping and planning to final delivery and maintenance. Working alongside the MD I also provide technical insight and aid with new business developments and strategic partnerships. I managed a distributed team of full-time employees and freelancers, including developers, engineers and testers. The central project is a video analytics platform as well as a video management, ingestion and delivery platform. This includes a transcoding pipeline and a scalable statistics collection and massage service on the backend, while on the front end there are client web sites, HTML5 and Adobe Flash players, mobile and tablet applications and APIs for third-party integrations. Under my guidance the operational infrastructure and delivery process was stabilized, improving customer confidence as well as internal planning and productivity. Technologies used: Opscode Chef, LXC, Quagga, Jenkins CI, HAProxy, Nginx, NodeJS, Memcache, Redis, RabbitMQ, Hadoop, HBase, MySQL / Percona, CouchDB, Icinga, Elemental Live transcoders, Wowza, PHP-HipHop.

As a senior system architect at Hyves, the Dutch social network with the largest online presence in the Netherlands, I was responsible for designing, building and deploying high-availability and scalable solutions in a rapidly growing and changing environment. While focusing on the implementation and maintenance of service related applications responsibilities included regular service support activities and guidance for developers. Technical skills include developing infrastructure applications in python, maintaining load-balanced application and database clusters.

At Joost, the video venture from the creators of Skype, responsibilities ranged from technical architecture to implementation and maintenance. Daily activities included assisting developers and QA with planning, deploying and testing new services while also maintaining, troubleshooting and updating existing production services. Under my guidance, designing and implementing services and workflows to meet the needs of various departments led to a considerable reduction in operational costs, combined with a significant improvement in process efficiency and accountability. Technical skills include designing, developing and implementing high availability services, including virtual server clusters (OpenQRM/Xen), storage (IBM GPFS with hierarchical storage management (HSM) and backup (Tivoli)), video transcoding clusters, MySQL replication, other high availability clusters, monitoring with nagios/opsview.

My role at Wireless Operations involves many responsibilities around the unified communications solution provided to medium to large telecommunications providers throughout the EMAE region. I primarily provide deployment integration, ongoing support and professional training for both customers and colleagues. I act as Customer Support Representative, and liaise with clients; business partners; team members; developers; project, innovation and sales teams; and managers from various regions, including Europe, Asia, and the USA. International travel is frequent for both deployment, integration and training purposes. I regularly participate in planning, progress and status sessions with both managers and customers. Have assisted in creating the requirements and structure of training courses with third parties and have established a successful knowledge base used by colleagues in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Kuala Lumpur and USA.

My roles included application and solution architecture planning, development, delivery and system maintenance of both customer and internal company services. Primarily I had a technical lead role and would carry out system installation and configuration, application development, and also regularly provide guidance to other developers. Each project required daily communication with clients and project management, while sales and management required frequent assistance with estimates and planning. A joint venture between a colleague and myself, we established a one-stop-shop for SME's to outsource their ICT requirements. Daily activities involved consultancy and remote support for customers; following up new leads; creating and presenting proposals; security and efficiency auditing of existing services; planning, development and integration of new and revamped services. Technical skills included Linux LAN server setup, web server and database planning, installation and management. Services included LAN-based fax, mail, file and print servers.
