Jimmy Alison Jørgensen
Co-Founder & CTO @ Nordbo Robotics A/S
About
Co-Founder and CTO at Nordbo Robotics were we develop innovative robot products with a strong focus on flexibility and ease of use. Previously, CEO in high-tech start-up CorePath Robotics were I was tasked to drive and promote the further development of a patented motion planning technology for automation of processes in the metalworking industry. As Assistant Professor In the Robotics group at the University of Southern Denmark. My main activities revolved around the continuing development, use and support of the dynamic simulator developed during my PhD. As such I was involved in several large research projects : ACAT, BinPicker, Xperience, Intellact, HybridGripper, LearnBIP, and TailorCrete. As PhD in robotics my competences cover several disciplines such as software development, applied mathematics, 3d drawing and printing, sensor technologies, vision, electronics, and embedded development. I have experience in programming object oriented C++, Java, Matlab, Mathematica, PHP and JSP as well as embedded programming in C and VHDL. Furthermore, my programming experience covers industrial robots like Universal Robots, Fanuc and Kuka. Parallel to my studies I have worked as self-employed in my one-man business I have developed complete embedded monitoring solutions in cooperation with both industrial partners and the Research Centers. My contributions to these projects have mainly been through PCB layout and embedded software and general problem-solving. Finally, I am one of the initiators and main developers of the open-source robotics framework, RobWork. RobWork has been in development since 2006 and has a strong focus towards applicability in industrial environments. The main purpose of this focus is to create a software bridge between robotics research and industrial collaborators.

Co-Founder & CEO
Lead Robotics
Odense Area, Denmark
- Developed a learning-by-demonstration platform for buffing small MIM-based parts in the 3C industry - Introduced a novel force control system for buffer wear compensation and polishing program fine-tuning - Exhibited polishing systems at multiple trade fairs in China and initiated a partnership with a major robot manufacturer - Deployed 8 robotic buffing systems at a Chinese factory within one year - Parallel development of a strain gauge-based 6-axis force sensor for robotic polishing installations - Grew the team to 11 developers in the first year

CP Robotics is a high-tech startup that will create new exciting products for automation in metalworking. We have a strong focus on providing solutions for SME's and in general we want to provide flexible solutions that allow affordable automation of few-of-a-kind production.

Assistant Professor
Odense Area, Denmark
As Assistant Professor at SDU my main function is to initiate and participate in scientific explorations of industrial and service related robot automation problems. My responsibilities include communication, coordination, developement and implementation of scientific work in several of our national and european projects. Additionally my responsibilities include teaching.

Post. Doc.
Odense, South Denmark, Denmark
My PhD brought me close to the SDU CARO group that managed a wealth of interesting projects between Industry and University. I joined the management of the group and was able to continue and broaden my work into these projects and at the same time create and teach courses in robotics. Results: • Project development work – Handyman, BinPicker, Xperience, Intellact, HybridGripper, • Fund raising –– Co-authored: National projects: Carmen, ROSOR, HybridGripper and EU projects: ACAT • Teaching and supervision of Master and Bachelor projects

Technical Consultant
Xtern udvikling
Copenhagen, Capital Region, Denmark
Product developer and manufacturing of quality assurance tools • Developed low cost height testing device for production line for accurately validating if parts were less than 460um with 2 um pression. • Developed electronics and firmware for a battery driven subsea sensing system. • Oversaw and coordinated pressurization testing at Force technologies and long term testing setup at GPV.

Computer Systems Engineer, Phd. student
Odense, South Denmark, Denmark
Shear curiosity and will to expand my technical skills made me deep dive into a fully funded PhD on innovating technologies for dexterous handling in robotics. Founded by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation through the project Movebots. Results: • Co-founded Robwork – an open-source kinematics, simulation and planning framework for robots and sensors. Written in C++ and Qt with bindings for Python, Lua and Java. A framework that is still used by several Universities and companies. (www.robwork.dk) • Dynamic simulation for robotics - Developed new ways of using dynamic simulation to compute and predict outcomes of grasping parts using robot grippers. Worked with multi body physics, simulation and modeling of sensors such as 2D and 2.5D cameras, tactile sensors 1-6 dof and tactile array sensors. • Methods for computing stable grasp with industrial as well as dexterous and sensor equipped grippers using dynamic simulations • Developed computational models that allowed robust dynamic simulation of contacts in grasping and in simulation of tactile array sensors • Algorithms for high performing FPGA based collision computation between triangle meshes • Publications - 6 publications of which I was first author in four

Research assistant
As Research Assitant in the robotics group at SDU I participated in teaching activities and as application developer in a collaboration project with Danfoss Universe. Additionally, together with two other colleagues, I initiated the development of a c++ based, opensource control and simulation framework for robotics, named RobWork.
