I work in a stand-alone role reporting to the School Principal. I am responsible for managing the ICT network and infrastructure of a busy Secondary School (820 students and 65 Staff, approx.). The School network comprises about 130 workstations, with 70 overhead projectors, 25 printers, other miscellaneous equipment and three servers. The major part of my work involves providing technical assistance to computer system users. Answering questions and resolve equipment problems in person, (occasionally via telephone or from remote location). I provide assistance and training for staff and students concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. I am responsible for liaising with suppliers and external technical support agencies.

As part of a team of six, I managed the administration of the HR policies, procedures and programs. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, I collaborated with the Recruitment Manager and the Development and Learning Manager. Day-to day responsibilities included development of Human Resource Information Systems, development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, contracts of employment and publishing in-house HR statistical data. Also the provision of legislation updates, liaising with legal department and CIF on third party claims. Additional projects included development and publishing of a Staff Handbook, collaborating with L&D Manager to develop and deliver MS Office Training. Overseeing in-house Graduate Development Programme. Special Projects: Company CPD Accreditation with Engineers Ireland; Great Place to Work Award; Outsourcing and redeployment programme for staff facing redundancy. I was the first contract for employees who need support regarding employee relations.
