Taught a network basics certification (Certified Network Service Technician) to adults for job placement. Covered material from the OSI stack, IP addressing, local and wide area network transports, multiplexing, and Ethernet switching. Completed hands-on projects during every course, designing and cabling networks for the organization and for non-profits in the San Antonio area.

Run multiple concurrent projects implementing various server solutions for internal customers. Implementations include major operating system and platform upgrades, and highly-available, redundant, multi-server implementations for critical business applications. Also supervised simple, single-server implementations.

Coordinated and implemented network solutions of varying size and complexity, ranging from the upgrade of an entire office building from Token Ring to Ethernet to multi-connection, firewall-secured connections between companies. Analyzed application dependencies and vendor relationships from end to end in order to implement redundant connections for Business Continuation. Completed over twenty such analyses/implementations concurrently in support of USAA’s first bank and life insurance disaster recovery exercises. Performed research for and served as the Network Services point of contact for network audits.
