The fundamental mission of the Operating Excellence group is to build, modify and execute the primary operating strategies for Sonoco. Global oversight is deployed through 6 functional areas: Manufacturing, Procurement, Safety, Customer Experience, Engineering and Supply Chain, operating in unison through the Sonoco Performance System. Operating Excellence is comprised of senior functional experts who employ process management, Lean tools and managerial expertise to solve problems and build capability. As owner of process management for the Company, O.E. has numerous secondary functions to include Working Capital Management, Perfect Order, Standard Work and Policy Deployment.

The Rigid Paper group is focused on high volume, shelf stable, consumer packaging applications for Powdered Infant Formula, Powdered Beverage, Snacks, Refridgerated Dough and Adhesive products. As a leader in material science, the Sonoco composite can delivers a cost effective alternative to various competing packaging formats. I was responsible for 26 operating plants in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Novolex manufactures plastic film and bags for the high volume retail and grocery segments in North America. The company is also involved in commercial films for both the agricultural and building industries. I was responsible for all aspects of the company operations to include 12 plants, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
