Jim is CEO of AllerGenis, a diagnostics company pioneering precision testing solutions to improve how individuals, families, and healthcare providers manage food allergies. Under his leadership, AllerGenis raised $27 million in capital, established a CLIA-certified lab, and brought a first-in-class diagnostic to market, backed by 20 years of immunology research and over 40 peer-reviewed publications. His work reflects a deep commitment to delivering more accurate, less invasive diagnostics to underserved communities. With over 35 years of experience, Jim has built and scaled diagnostic and biotech ventures across every stage of growth—from R&D through commercialization, M&A, and strategic exit. He successfully commercialized over 40 diagnostics products and services, central in three M&A transactions, and secured more than $85M in venture funding across multiple companies. His expertise spans go-to-market strategy, reimbursement, KOL engagement, regulatory and distribution frameworks, and global operations. Previously Jim served as Chief Business Officer at Integrated Diagnostics, where he de-risked a $30M Series A round and was central to closing a $56.5M Series B toward the commercialization of a novel proteomic platform. Earlier, he held leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group where as SVP of Global Sales at i3 Research, he managed commercial operations across 22 countries, reinforcing his ability to lead dispersed teams and drive international growth. Prior to the global leadership role he led strategic partnerships between UHG and global pharma driving over $140M in revenue. Jim has also held executive roles at digital technology and diagnostics-focused firms such as MDdatacor, Elan Diagnostics, and DIANON Systems. He is recognized for aligning scientific innovation with business execution—refining product-market fit, accelerating commercialization, and building scalable, disciplined operations. He is a founding partner of Lloyd Garner & Associates, a consultancy supporting diagnostics and precision medicine innovators navigating commercialization and value-based reimbursement. He also serves on two non-profit boards including as board secretary of Red Sneakers for Oakley, a nonprofit advocating for food allergy awareness and education. Jim began his career as a U.S. Army Air Cavalry Troop Commander and attack helicopter pilot, earning the Meritorious Service Medal among other honors.
