Illuminate the university’s mission as lead storyteller for all main communications channels. Serve as project manager for creative content strategies and distribution plans, build and distribute inbound and outbound digital publications. Serve as managing editor of news and events on RWU.edu. Act as public relations liaison to the President’s Office, strategizing and executing high-priority media coverage, brand messaging and events planning. Manage an editorial intern team producing written and multimedia work. Collaborate with freelance writers, graphic designers and web developers.

Weave diverse narrative tales as lead storyteller of RWU for all of the major publications: RWU Magazine, the University's flagship publication featuring stories about ideas and issues being investigated by students, faculty and alumni; President's Report, a narrative-based annual financial summary; and PDQ@RWU, the University's news and events website. Identify the most interesting and timely stories via connections across campus and beyond. Report and photograph important events, lectures and initiatives for publications and the website. Serve as creative and content developer, editor and proofreader of major publications, news and events website, news releases and select high-level institutional communications. Plan overall strategy for all news venues. Provide support for media visits and special events as Public Affairs team member. Assist with content development and management for the social media presences maintained by the Public Affairs team. Curate editorial content as website content manager of PDQ@RWU, including news, events and announcements, as well as the outbound PDQ Pulse e-newsletter. Populate external events calendars (print and digital) with University events. Supervise student editorial interns in developing and reporting stories for print and digital publications. Provide interns with editorial direction and edit their final drafts. Serve on University committees and attend all major events. Write editorial content for external advertising of University events.

Produced an award-winning newspaper, from planning content and design, writing stories and editing articles, to proofing finished product. Shaped writers’ articles into clean, well-crafted pieces. Managed a staff of reporters and photographers. Posted daily to the website and to social media outlets; built a strong following on Facebook in a few short months. The Bristol Phoenix is a weekly community newspaper covering local news, features, community news, and sports. It has been the paper of record in Bristol, R.I., since 1836. Served as Vice President of the Rhode Island Press Association, representing East Bay Newspapers.

Performed lead editorial functions of planning content, editing stories and executing layout design in editor's absence. Acted as beat reporter for the towns of Portsmouth, R.I., and Westport, M.A.

Performed as news reporter for the cities of Taunton, Norton, Dighton and Rehoboth.
