About

I am an interdisciplinary engineer with competencies in software development, including artificial intelligence, computer vision, data science and machine learning. I am good at combining different fields together and finding innovative new solutions for analyzing large amounts of data. I have extensive experience in developing mathematical models within aforementioned fields. Furthermore, I also have good experience with manual data acquisition and annotation of large data sets, acquired through various projects both at work and at university.Currently I am employed at JLI Vision where the focus has been to develop algorithmic workflows and pipelines in C++, for our software ecosystem that is used directly in production. Most recently I developed a standard module for this ecosystem utilizing Microsoft SQL through its C++ API. In July 2021 I defended my master's thesis which combined the fields of remote sensing measurements, glaciology and deep learning. The subject was developing a convolutional neural network solution to automate the identification of water-ice deposits/buried glaciers in the subsurface of Mars, based on ice-penetrating radar measurements from the SHARAD radar aboard the The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). I localized the AOI's myself, acquired and annotated the data set, and achieved great results using the U-Net Convolutional Neural Network. Personal life:In my spare time, I have two main hobbies. The first one is music, which involves singing, guitar and piano. The second is martial arts, more specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). The latter is of continually growing interest to me, and I attended a 1-week training camp in Iceland in 2022 (BJJ Globetrotters). I'm also an outgoing and curious person and have lived in social and tradition-based student dormitories for 4.5 years during studies. Travelling and international experience: Travelling is one of my greatest passions, and I adapt well to different cultures. I have lived a full year in Rome where I worked at the European Space Agency at their AI incubation hub, developing AI solutions for various projects. And during my studies, I went on two study abroad trips to Technion in Israel and to Técnologico De Monterrey in Mexico. The subjects here were focused on statistical analysis, aeronautical engineering, mathematics and computer science. Furthermore, I have backpacked for 8 months throughout East and Southeast Asia (China, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand) during my sabbatical year before university.

After 1 year of being a Young Graduate Trainee at the European Space Agency in Frascati, Italy, the time has come to go home again. It has been a great year full of adventures, friendships, personal and professional growth and many other great experiences. A big thanks to the Phi-lab for this opportunity, and my friends and coworkers at ESRIN. But after 1 year I felt drawn back towards my home town of Copenhagen, and the wonderful job that gave me leave to come there. I am more than excited to start up my old position at JLI Vision again as an AI Engineer. Liftoff! 1.5 weeks ago I finally started my new YGT position as an AI Researcher in Φ-lab at the European Space Agency in Frascati, Italy! A long time dream come true and I can't keep my arms down.
