Answer phones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. Establish or identify prices of goods, service or admission, and tabulate bills cash registers or optical price scanners. Answer customers questions, and provide information on procedures or policies. Process merchandise returns and exchanges. Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as sweeping restrooms and emptying trash cans. Request information or assistance using paging systems.

Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list. Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise. Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tablets with new or transferred merchandise. Answer customers’ questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection

Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Operate large volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases. Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
