In my current role, I provide comprehensive oversight and management for all import / export customs and trade compliance activities. This involves numerous aspects of customs and global trade functions, including managing HTS classifications, U.S. Customs bonds and statements, post entry processes through final liquidation, TSA compliance monitoring all other regulatory compliance activities. In addition, I conduct daily declaration audits and regular trade compliant risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks, manage and maintain customs broker trade operations processes and key performance indicators and extrapolate that data into cohesive reports for executive leadership. From a people perspective, I routinely collaborate with government officials to facilitate seamless operations, onboard and manage new accounts and develop and coordinate trade compliance training for internal team member and clients. I have included some of my key accomplishments in this position below. ◆ I successfully orchestrated the seamless transition of all trade and customs compliance functions from the operations department to a centralized trade and customs compliance department; directed the implementation of standardized auditing, SOPs and training, and assumed responsibility for all customs and trade compliance tasks as Trade Compliance Manager. ◆ Created and implemented streamlined processes for daily operations that directly affected productivity and resulted in a substantial increase in efficiency and an average error rate decrease of over 50%. ◆ Developed and launched a highly efficient bond management program that reduced transactional bonds vs continuous bond sales and resulted in a dramatic increase in revenue that catapulted branch office to #1 in the region.

Performed a wide range of brokerage activities including preparation and transmission of customs entries and post entries, HTS classification and delivery logistics. I coordinated directly with local government officials to evaluate and resolve customs holds and researched and maintained current knowledge of all local laws, regulations, procedures for import / export transactions. Some of my key contributions are outlined below. ◆ Created and implemented SOPs and processes for product classification, which included developing a parts database and creating streamlined workflows for document management, to successfully secure the transition of the #1 revenue generating brokerage client to the branch. ◆ Analyzed and overhauled the existing post entry process, successfully reducing submission times and increasing overall efficiency.

As Accounting Agent Supervisor, I was tasked with managing a variety of accounting functions and processes. This included managing accounts payable, receivables and monthly reserves. I also investigated accounting discrepancies, reviewed and audited vendor invoices and processed deposits. A few of my more notable achievements in this role are highlighted below. ◆ I successfully led a major accounts payable project to bring all past due accounts current. This involved implementing a monthly review, audit and reconciliation of vendor statements and resulted in the development of an application and procedure for effectively resolving vendor invoices in a more timely fashion, while also enabling trending analysis reporting. ◆ Played a pivotal role in effectively bringing upstream visibility by creating a process for managing monthly reserves that utilized scripting and reporting.
