As part of the LSE Craft of Government program, I collaborated with UNESCO on a research project examining how AI is reshaping the future of work. Our team interviewed senior leaders across technology, automotive, and luxury sectors, along with AI policy experts, to assess how automation is influencing hiring, displacement, and workforce strategies, and how governments and international institutions can respond. We found that while AI is accelerating job losses in some areas, it is also creating new demand for skills and roles. Meeting this challenge requires investment in AI literacy, lifelong learning, and large-scale upskilling. I co-authored a policy paper highlighting UNESCO’s role in fostering international cooperation, setting global best practices, and ensuring the benefits of AI are broadly shared.
