I have been accepted onto the Graduate Management Scheme for the HSCNI, commencing September 2016.

As VP Equality and Diversity, I sought to ensure all students were treated with respect at the University. It is key to an inclusive environment that all students recognize and celebrate their diversity, and I worked with and represented all minority groups within the Union, promoted good relations and tried to eradicate hate and bias amongst the student population. My role involved branching out to students, liasing and negotiating with MLAs and Public Authorities on their behalf, ensuring equal treatment of all students, co-coordinating International student affairs within the Union and organizing events to raise awareness of equality and diversity. I also had the opportunity to gain experience in recruitment (throughout the year I sat on six interview panels), completed the University equality course, had training in Media presenting by Macmillan Media and attended conferences on Higher Education and Student Politics organised by NUS/NUS-USI/USI as well as being a spokesperson for the University on matters relating to DEL.

I worked as a Legal Assistant within a growing international law firm. My role was predominately document review, requiring accurate and consistent application of specific guidance given by the instructing team to a large volume of documents. I identified precise issues, such as commercial sensitivity and privileged content within documents, as well as ascertaining their relevance to the given case. I appreciated the different social platforms the firm offered and partook in charitable events and enterprise initiatives, such as representing the firm at the 'Women in Business' Annual Conference and sitting on the University Liaison Committee.
