Work on administrative practice before government agencies, and non-litigation advocacy including drafting white papers, researching policy proposals and drafting complaints. Represent a range of clients from grassroots, regional to national advocacy organizations. Have specifically focused on privacy act violations and immigration law pertaining to I-485 and N-400 applications.

Research Assistant for Professor Guyora Binder. Focus was to code 1800 cases of death row inmates in states permitting execution of inadvertent killers.

Identified cases in which there is a strong evidence of miscarriage of justice, and prepared them for redress. Specifically, review request from inmates and assessed the viability of the project representing them in filing a motion pursuant to Criminal Procedure Law article 440. Also, review claims of Brady violations and forensic evidence that the individual indicates may have been inaccurate and/or tainted.

* Sole counsel for clients at disciplinary hearings and parole board hearings * Worked closely with transgender clients on being transferred to women’s prison facility * Submitted appeals to the Parole Board of Canada and Investigations and Standards Office * Prepared a Gladue Factors Report for Parole Board of Canada * Provided advocacy on behalf of prisoners in the form of summary advice and written submissions.

* Prepared a supplemental appeal * Reviewed Tier III disciplinary hearing tapes to determine whether the hearing office violated any of the prisoner’s procedural rights * Assisted with drafting on an Article 78 petition to state court * Reviewed client letters and submitted appropriate documents and memorandums to assist with client issues * Assisted with drafting of disciplinary hearing appeal memorandums.
