About
Hi, I’m Jerry Barefield — a Business Administration student with a Sports concentration at the University of Oregon and a proud member of the Men’s Soccer Team. I’m passionate about leadership, teamwork, and creating standout experiences both on and off the field.Having worked in customer service, youth coaching, food handling, and event security, I've acquired the skill of staying calm under pressure, communicating well, and being able to think on my feet. Whether working with spectators at Providence Park, cooking at Bella Organics, or coaching youth athletes, I take on every job with enthusiasm, focus, and a problem-solving mindset.Outside of school I collaborate with my brothers in the Sigma Chi Fraternity by participating in philanthropy events and volunteering around the city of Eugene to give back to my community. As I continue to establish my business foundation, I am constantly looking for new ways to grow, connect, and give back. Sports business, brand management, and team building are of special interest to me.Let’s connect — I’m open to internships, mentorship, or just a good conversation about leadership, athletics, and business!

At Providence Park, I worked as a Fan Experience Attendant and occasionally supported event security during Portland Timbers and Thorns FC games, as well as concerts and other large events. My role involved greeting and assisting guests, guiding them to their seats, and answering questions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. I helped manage crowd flow, responded calmly to guest concerns, and collaborated with other team members to maintain a welcoming and safe environment. As a youth soccer coach at Portland City United (PCU), I worked with players of various age groups to help them develop both technical skills and confidence on and off the field. I planned and led training sessions focused on teamwork, discipline, and game strategy, while also serving as a positive role model for young athletes. I emphasized sportsmanship, effort, and personal growth, creating an environment where players felt supported and motivated. In addition to coaching, I maintained communication with parents and collaborated with other coaches to ensure a consistent and engaging experience for all players. This role strengthened my leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
