Sent drawing packet to subcontractors to obtain bids for PO issuance of Drilling Rigs Issue PO’s for Subcontracting of Drilling Rigs in MAS90, update status of job on a weekly basis, track change orders and ensure they get to Supplier. Work with Engineering to resolve drawing issues. Search for new suppliers for machining and subcontracting. Work to reduce cost with existing suppliers. Instituted a cost savings measure on Sheaves that had potential to save 750K annually if adhered to.

Responsible for the Domestic and International Purchasing of 15-50 million a year in stainless, carbon. Electrical and mechanical accessories and components to meet manufacturing and inventory requirements Work with internal customers (Project managers, Engineers, etc) to resolve issues as required. Modify and write purchasing procedures as required to meet ISO 9000 Strategically source materials based on location of fabrication shops around the world. Work with Quality to submit Supplier non-conformance and supplier back charges. Provide direction and leadership for supply chain to support production. Resolve purchasing related issues and discrepancies Trained and managed other buyers, fostered good communication and teamwork with other departments Wrote departmental procedures and worked with Quality to ensure they met ISO Perform material analysis to determine best prices from various locations for purchasing Analyzed vendor operations to determine factors that affect pricing, researched cost savings alternatives that were consistent with quality and reliability standards and the vendor’s ability to meet required production schedules.
