Currently contracting with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, the nation's leading nonprofit provider of comprehensive behavioral health care and related education, research and publishing content -- specifically supporting the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School and Advocacy.

Volunteer with nonprofit that examines the intersection of creativity and wellbeing, working to create safe spaces, smash social stigmas and shape education and business practices relating to mental health, addiction and compassion in the arts.

Was honored to serve a two-year term on the board of directors for this national nonprofit dedicated to organizing and mobilizing millions of Americans in recovery from addiction -- as well as our families, friends and allies -- into recovery community organizations and networks to promote the right and resources to recover. The organization's work is accomplished through advocacy, education and demonstrating the power and proof of long-term recovery.

Oversee media relations and strategic corporate communications for the the nation's largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider, leading daily efforts to tell compelling, inspiring and educational stories via print, broadcast and online media. With 17 sites in California, Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado and Washington, the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation offers prevention and recovery solutions nationwide across the entire continuum of care for youth and adults. Its legacy began in 1949 and includes the 1982 founding of the Betty Ford Center. Also help drive the Foundation's public advocacy efforts, providing a trusted national voice on issues related to addiction prevention, treatment and recovery. The Foundation facilitates conversation among those in recovery, those still suffering and society at large and is committed to smashing stigma, shaping public policy and educating people everywhere about the problems of addiction and the promise of recovery. Additionally, oversee the Foundation's online recovery community, www.TheDailyPledge.org. (Interned January-April 2013 while pursuing master's degree. Began full time in August 2013 and have held positions of increasing responsibility since.)

Interned as mental health professional from May 2013 to July 2013 while pursuing master's degree. Also interned as chemical dependency counselor from January 2012 to April 2012 and September 2012 to December 2012, first on men's residential primary care unit and then on women's residential extended care unit. Gained experience with group counseling, diagnostic assessments, individual counseling, psycho-education, treatment planning and design, documentation, continuing care planning, psychological evaluations, mental health screening, and more.

Contributed as producer to documentary film project about the history of addiction treatment in America. While many films have dissected addiction, prohibition, AA, Bill Wilson and, most recently, the modern recovery movement, none have documented the thorough history of "treatment," from colonial times to today. This project, which set out to change that, has been put on hold indefinitely, pending additional funding.

Collaborated, under contract, with executive Arnie Strebe to write "Zero to Something," a personal and practical book about leadership in business and life. Ideal resource for new leaders and anyone committed to consistent growth.

Served in various roles of increasing responsibility for national multibillion-dollar business, including: internal sales and performance improvement consultant, training team manager, corporate university marketing and multimedia team manager, program developer, facilitator, curriculum designer and technical writer. Gained significant experience with both online and traditional platforms. Helped to establish an internationally recognized corporate university. Major areas of contribution included leadership development, performance improvement, individual behavior change, organizational change management, performance measurement and communication strategy.

Reporter and editor in the Dakotas for world's largest news organization. Covered government, politics, agriculture, extreme weather, crime and a variety of other topics of state and national interest. Byline published in daily newspapers across the country, from the Los Angeles Times to the Washington Post.
