Oversee media relations and strategic corporate communications for the the nation's largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider, leading daily efforts to tell compelling, inspiring and educational stories via print, broadcast and online media. With 17 sites in California, Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado and Washington, the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation offers prevention and recovery solutions nationwide across the entire continuum of care for youth and adults. Its legacy began in 1949 and includes the 1982 founding of the Betty Ford Center. Also help drive the Foundation's public advocacy efforts, providing a trusted national voice on issues related to addiction prevention, treatment and recovery. The Foundation facilitates conversation among those in recovery, those still suffering and society at large and is committed to smashing stigma, shaping public policy and educating people everywhere about the problems of addiction and the promise of recovery. Additionally, oversee the Foundation's online recovery community, www.TheDailyPledge.org. (Interned January-April 2013 while pursuing master's degree. Began full time in August 2013 and have held positions of increasing responsibility since.)

Also interned as chemical dependency counselor from January 2012 to April 2012 and September 2012 to December 2012, first on men's residential primary care unit and then on women's residential extended care unit. Gained experience with group counseling, diagnostic assessments, individual counseling, psycho-education, treatment planning and design, documentation, continuing care planning, psychological evaluations, mental health screening, and more.

Fiveman Films
Contributed as producer to documentary film project about the history of addiction treatment in America. While many films have dissected addiction, prohibition, AA, Bill Wilson and, most recently, the modern recovery movement, none have documented the thorough history of "treatment," from colonial times to today. This project, which set out to change that, has been put on hold indefinitely, pending additional funding.
