About
Until I get around to updating my profile, here's an approach to communicating career milestones. I've been getting this question a lot lately, as I expand my network. EVENTS My career started 2000 in events. With my passion for games, I quickly specialized in technology and gaming events developing programs for Sony, Intel, AMD, Microsoft, and Best Buy, to name a few. One of my most notable was the Xbox Odyssey, a 31-city tour introducing the Xbox brand for Microsoft. BRANDING Developed the Games for Windows brand in 2006. I've developed many brands since then, particularly for early stage startups. ESPORTS I was the Microsoft marketing partner to Samsung for the World Cyber Games (WCG) starting in 2006. My team developed Halo World Championship - its inception was 2012 in the form of the Halo Infinity Challenge (2012), Halo Global Championship (2013), which finally evolved in 2014 into what is today known as the Halo World Championship (2014-2016). (NOTE: My team did not develop the HCS - Halo Championship Series. That was a different team.) My team also developed the Forza Racing Championship (2017-2019) where today's Porsche Esports (incredible partners) got its start. GAMING Credited on over 80 titles, largely due to three years spent on XBLA supporting indie (A, AA) studios, including South Park Studios, Playdead, Team Meat, and, of course, Microsoft Game Studios, to name a few. Global Marketing Lead at Microsoft Game Studios Japan (MGSJ) Kinect titles (Global Marketing): Out-of-box experience Kinect Adventures, Kinectimals, Kinect Disneyland, Kinect Disney-Pixar Halo (Sr. Global Marketing): As of 2024, my team has launched more titles in the Halo franchise than any team in franchise history. We also developed in partnership with Hololens and Xbox Events, the Halo Hololens Experience at E3 (2015). Forza Motorsports PopCap Games Incredible indie game studio experience soaking in a number of casual games. Retail channel experience x4 years TODAY Started Ladybug Workshop (soon to be Ladybug Ventures) as a freelancer in 2019, and now provide software development, integrated marketing & branding, and event services (live engagements). We have a particular passion for games & entertainment, healthcare/wellness, sustainability, workforce development, and defense. I am fortunate to work with the smartest, nicest, coolest team. Our values: humility, kindness, teamwork, curiosity, and a strong work ethic. Reach out if you would like a partner to tackle business challenges.

Director - Growth Marketing
The Data Economics Company (DECO) | Popularium
Leveraging 20+ years of games, transmedia, and esports experience to support an incredibly talented team of game industry veterans at Popularium Studios. Together, we are building the games & entertainment sector with the Lydion(R) Engine and pioneering a Web2.5 world of game experiences. I wear many hats: program management, project management, growth marketing, investor strategy support, and onboarding, to name a few key areas. I'm very lucky to work with such a cool, brilliant, creative group of people. Let's go! Popularium was founded by an all-star team of gaming industry veterans responsible for the largest asset-based games and platforms in history—such as Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, the Halo franchise, and Xbox Live. Popularium started from a simple idea that we shared: What would games look like if they involved the community from an early stage? What if this community had the tools to impact the narrative and create assets of real value from the game? Developed the Popularium Gaming Platform to enable players to own and trade their in-game digital assets, powered by Lydion Vaults and the Lydion Engine.

Working at Prajna Strategy was a very fulfilling opportunity. This is a leadership team that cares deeply about workplace culture. I was delighted to focus my time and energy on developing product and go-to-market strategies for our roster of fantastic startups across various verticals including fintech, cybertech, and web services.

Director of Esports, Turn 10 Studios
Redmond, WA
Building on my love of esports, I developed an ambitious vision for our premium esports program, The Forza Racing Challenge. With a fantastic team of subject matter experts, we defined short- and long-term strategy, tournament operations, go-to-market plans, partner opportunities, broadcast production, research, and storytelling. Our efforts were rewarded with year-over-year growth in both viewership (acquisition), and engagement. In addition, I took a strong interest in improving studio culture for all groups, receiving executive sponsorship to become the studio’s first Diversity and Inclusivity lead (Jan 2019-Present).

Global Sr. Product Marketing, Halo
Redmond, WA
Leading a diverse team of dedicated marketers, we launched titles and experiences such as Halo 4, Halo 5, Halo: Spartan Assault, and the Halo Hololens experience at E3, to name a few. With a vision to re-invigorate Halo’s competitive scene, we led Halo’s re-entry into esports from 2012-2016 with the Halo Infinity Challenge (2012), Halo 4 Global Championship (2013), and the first Halo World Championship (2015-16). Over the course of my career on Halo, we won over 120 global marketing awards across multiplayer and consumer marketing campaign categories. My tenure on Halo allowed me to dive deep into esports, streaming culture, and digital marketing, honing a very sharp competency in developing digital strategies across the marketing funnel clearly tied to specific KPIs. Many members of my team advanced in their careers following our success on Halo.

Product Marketing
Product Marketing brought me fully into the world of games development. I loved the experience of researching game proposals to inform the greenlight process. Supporting indie developers has been a highlight of my career. It gave me an intimate view - and appreciation for - the complexities of development. I learned firsthand the challenges of introducing and marketing new consumer experiences in the 2+ years I spent promoting Kinect. I honed skills in forecasting, data analytics, social media marketing, and, through partnerships with Disney and Pixar, partner marketing. I led the marketing of the best-selling Xbox 360 title of all time, Kinect Adventures.
Education

Political Science
College was a bit of a tumultuous ride for me...after finishing a two-year Associates Degree at Olympic College (Bremerton, WA), I spent a few more years at WWU due to a change in majors (Theater to Political Science, which is really all Marketing in some fashion). I ended up leaving college before I finished to pursue an Experiential Marketing career path. I never would have finished college as I moved on to a full-time job at Microsoft without the degree. Thanks to a wonderful mentor-manager, I was convinced to take three months off to finish my Bachelor's degree. (Thank you, David!)
