Responsible for providing primary nursing care to patients of all ages and various acuity levels. Fulfill charge nurse role, which encompasses managing patient flow of the department, resolving issues at the unit level, managing staffing for the shift, and supporting and implementing administrative initiatives. Integral in the development of evidence-based nursing documentation guidelines for the emergency department. Additionally, a preceptor for newly hired nurses and the "Therapeutic Hypothermia Champion" for night shift.

Data collection and entry for a study investigating delirium in mechanically ventilated patients and the relationship to the APOE-3 gene. Patients assessed for delirium using the CAM-ICU and RASS tools, and blood samples drawn from arterial and central lines and analyzed in genetics lab.
