 Strategic advice and support to the Chief Executive in the governance and management of the Association. Deliver, monitor and communicate progress of operations that cover education, youth development, social services and hospitality.  Conduct research analysis and recommend informed strategies/operation plan to the Chief Executive.  Cultivate positive partnership with Mainland and international stakeholders, especially the World Alliance YMCA and the international liaison within the YMCA circle. Selected achievements:  Designed and implemented a successful election campaign for a CYMCA’s Director to assume Deputy Presidentship of the World Alliance of YMCA, that directly report to the United Nations.  Developed the strategic plan that build international collaboration and showcase the Association on international platform.  Worked with the medical team and external advisors to plan and monitor progress for the establishment of an integrated medical clinic, which is a new venture of the Association.

• Head of the Accreditation and Registration Section and the External Qualifications Section. • Maintain and ensure the HKIE accreditation criteria and policies meet the international standards and industry needs through communications with international professional engineering bodies, universities and the industry. Lead accreditation exercises for all professional engineering programmes in Hong Kong and Macau. • Oversee, review and improve, the registration operation of Registered Professional Engineers (R.P.E.) according to the requirements as stipulated under the Engineers Registration Ordinance (Cap. 409) in Hong Kong. • Develop and maintain international reciprocal recognition agreements with international professional bodies. Liaison person for International Engineering Alliance, APEC Engineers and Seoul Accord. Major achievements: • Planned and presented at the reviews for Hong Kong and successfully obtained further six years’ of international recognition for Hong Kong’s computer science degree programmes and engineering higher diploma programmes. • Enhanced the efficiency of R.P.E. registration operations by leading the development of online application platform. • Reviewed and refined accreditation policies and guidelines that address the nature of new academic programmes.

• Lead accreditation exercises for degree programmes offered by non-UGC funded institutions in Hong Kong. Engage local and overseas academics and field experts of the respective disciplinary to evaluate the programme’s curriculum, teaching delivery, academic and institutional regulations and policies against the threshold standard as required set by the Hong Kong Qualification Framework.

• Develop local business case studies for a VTC programme commissioned by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Each case study involved an interview with local business leader(s) and preparation of training materials on a designated topic with reference to the relevant business theory.

• Budget planning and control, lead administrative team and monitor the general administration work. • Local and overseas teaching programmes management. • Serve as secretary to Boards and Committees on teaching and research and execute the deliberations. Major achievements: • Planned and successfully implemented the three-year transition for merging part of the Centre of Urban Planning and Environmental Management (CUPEM) with Kadoorie Agricultural and Research Centre which became Kadoorie Institute (KI). KI’s operations covered teaching, research, and hostel and catering which extended to three campuses. • Supported the successful integration of University Surgical Unit and Hospital Authority Surgical Unit at Queen Mary Hospital.
