About

An executive-level marketer, storyteller and strategist, I’ve been building movements around sustainability and wellness since 2007. In 2022, I founded Sway, a platform for connecting conscious consumers to healthy home furnishings—we became a (proud!) Techstars portfolio company the same year. Sign up for the newsletter & shop the marketplace at sway-home.com. Why healthy furnishings? Much of the mass-produced furniture, mattresses, bedding and decor we bring into our homes exposes us to chemicals of concern that are linked to asthma, infertility, and even cancer. My mission is to make it easy for anyone to create a healthy home, and to help transform the furniture industry until every product in it is made to protect and support human health. How did I get here? I've spent my career working with standards for buildings that aim to limit negative impacts on the planet and on people, ascending to the highest ranks of those institutions. After 7.5 years at the U.S. Green Building Council marketing the LEED green building standard, I joined the International WELL Building Institute as head of marketing from 2016-2020. In 2020, I launched my own marketing consulting practice, which has given me the opportunity to develop and implement marketing strategies for a range of wellness and sustainability oriented companies. I hold a B.A. in Journalism and Geography (environmental focus) from The George Washington University, earned the Healthier Materials and Sustainable Building certificate from Parsons School of Design in 2022, and maintain my LEED Green Associate credential, which affirms a professional’s thorough comprehension of green building principles and practices.
