Hoover Building Sustainable Sites landscaping certification program * Published the Department’s quarterly Energy and Environment newsletter

* M.S. research investigating the sustainability of goat grazing as a means to control the invasive grass Phragmites australis in wetlands * Supervise two part-time laboratory assistants * Independently taught Wetland Ecology class composed of 20 graduate and undergraduate students for 3.5 weeks; designed and delivered 4 class lectures * Guided both graduate and undergraduate students with wetland delineation, plant identification for graded collections of 25-40 plants, and design and data analysis for observational studies

Independently led a total of four laboratory sections in introductory Plant Biology of twenty students each

* Managed and expanded the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)’s Environmental Management System (EMS) for greening its operations at its Arlington headquarters buildings as well as at its facilities throughout the country * Led EMS implementation at the New York City laboratory facility * Led workgroups that designed and implemented DEA-wide EMS policies on subjects including green procurement, disposal of electronic waste, and energy conservation * Advised top management on EMS policy and direction

* Carried out ecological surveys and wrote reports for a small ecological consultancy * Advised engineers on minimizing environmental impact and monitored contractor compliance with agreed environmental best practice measures on a major highway construction project
