The Denver County Jail (DCJ) is responsible for the long term care and custody of sentenced prisoners and pre-sentenced prisoners, as well as inmates sentenced to work release /community corrections. In addition, the DCJ provides a variety of programming aimed at enhancing the lives of prisons while incarcerated and following their release. Psychotherapy services provided to male and female inmates with moderate to severe mental health needs, and inmates being transitioned into a community corrections program to decrease recidivism. Responsibilities included: individual psychotherapy; co-facilitated DBT and community corrections psychotherapy groups. Supervision: Brad McMillian, Ph.D.

Tooley Hall is a halfway house for female felons sentenced to community corrections. Responsibilities included: individual psychotherapy to female halfway house clients with severe mental illness. Addressed trauma issues, drug addiction, coping skills deficits and increased awareness of mental health treatment issues within community corrections. Additional responsibilities included: co-facilitated an art therapy group. Supervision: Brad McMillian, Ph.D.

The Kempe Center offers parent-child services including psychological assessment and therapeutic services. Responsibilities included short- and intermediate-term psychotherapy, assessment, treatment planning, report and progress note writing. Additional duties include working with a multi-disciplinary treatment team including adult probation officers, law enforcement, and social services..

Conducted data collection, entry and statistical analyses for the Futures in Fertility Project.

Provided psychological services in community mental health for adults requiring outpatient to intensive outpatient level of care. Duties included group and individual psychotherapy, program development, care coordination, psychiatric rehabilitation, crisis management, advocacy, and treatment planning.

Evaluated community supervision clients who have mental health and/or substance abuse issues in order to determine treatment needs and assist with supervision decisions. Produced legal documents (i.e. reports) which have a direct impact on client recidivism rates and public safety within Dallas County.

* Treatment and Evaluation Services (TES) is a small agency which serves a forensic population primarily consisting of male sex offenders. Referrals are generated from the criminal and family court, probation departments, mental health professionals, and attorneys. Responsibilities included: forensic evaluations * group, individual, family, and couples psychotherapy * reunification of victims and perpetrators * community workshops, interagency coordination * consultation: and supervision of students.

The Denver Children’s Home (DCH) provides children and adolescents who have been abused, neglected or suffer from severe mental illness with a comprehensive array of therapeutic, educational, and community based services. Responsibilities included: providing individual, group and family psychotherapy to children in day and residential treatment programs. Additional duties included: administering comprehensive assessment batteries, integrative report writing, treatment planning, progress note writing, crisis management, and consultation with educational staff. Supervision: Tara Folan, Ph.D. and Michele Forstat, Psy.D.

Lecturer, Introduction to Psychology II, Department of Psychology. Duties include: lecturing twice weekly classes, developing PowerPoint presentations, prepping materials for lecture, and grading exams.

Rose Family Medicine is an affiliate of Rose Medical Center, The Colorado Health Foundation and is a clinical training site for resident physicians enrolled in the Rose Family Medicine Residency. Responsibilities included: consultation with resident physicians, individual psychotherapy, intakes, treatment planning and progress note writing. Supervision: Vanessa Rollins, Ph.D.

The Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) is a non-profit community mental health agency providing services to children, adults and families. Responsibilities included: providing individual and family psychotherapy, intakes, treatment planning, case presentations, and progress note writing. Supervision: Jimmy Langley, Psy.D. and Peggy Kolschefsky, Ph.D.

Provided behavioral health consultation in a pediatric medical practice. Utilized solution-focused and brief interventions to promote health and well-being.

Duties included: collaborating with multiple constituents, including students, PSYC faculty, and Internship Advisors, management and facilitation of online discussion groups, grading assignments, updating website materials and maintaining student files.
