Primary responsibilities include oversaw and guided eight students each semester during the Adult Health I semester in the accelerated nursing program, assisted students with establishing strong assessment skills, engaged with students on passing medications, completed bedside procedures such as dressing changes, witnessed lab draws with, challenged students with post conference discussions and out of clinical quizzes, critiqued student's writes and provided critical thinking feedback statements for each student, encouraged students to communicate with nursing staff and physicians regarding their patients, and provided support and encouragement during this challenging semester.

Primary responsibilities included coordinated and facilitated management of care for patients in Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit and Neurology/Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit. Administered medications as ordered by physicians, assessed patient's vital signs as ordered, assisted physicians with bedside procedures such as central line placements, EVD placements, Lumbar Punctures, Chest Tube placements, etc, provided education to both patients and families on patient specific disease processes, promoted patient safety, encouraged patient participation in physical and occupational therapy sessions, travel with patients to off unit procedures, communicated and engaged with multiple teams such as the ICU and surgery physicians, therapy, and social work regarding the treatment plan of the patient, assist coworkers during busy times, and adhered to all regulations and safety protocols at all times.
