Working part time as a sales assistant for an admirable jewellers and gift shop during my studies within college. My duties consisted of arranging window displays to a high standard. The windows included our selection of exquisite watches, along with the precious diamonds. This was a task I was trusted to take on and I took great pride in fulfilling expectations. My role was also largely customer service based. I would advise customers on the "perfect" gift for that special someone, and also assist customers when making big decisions - for items such as engagement and wedding rings. My role was very advantageous as I got to play a part in customer's special occasions, and seeing the joy within a customer was all the satisfaction I needed.

Whilst I was completing my studies within secondary school I participated in a variety of voluntary activities. This included the community project within the local area, Bankie Talk. Bankie Talk was a vital contribution to society and also a lifeline for some. It involved recording newspaper articles, magazine stories and important information for those that were blind and did not have access to necessary resources within the local community. Over the academic year there was much success and appreciation towards the efforts put into the project that the Diana Award was proudly presented to those involved. Frank Duffie - the Bankie Talk founder - was there to present the awards as pictured below.

I volunteered as a student mentor in my senior year of school in supporting first year pupils with their English and literature studies. The support I provided allowed students to enhance their knowledge within the subject, which resulted in their continuous success within the subject throughout the academic year. This was thoroughly rewarding as the pupils really appreciated the help, and over the course of the year there was evident success for the pupils as they progressed onto the next level of study.

Working as a community volunteer for my local St. Margaret's Hospice charity, I gained a real passion to help those in need. My experience allowed me to gain a sense of compassion for others, and as a result of this my enthusiasm for volunteering and fundraising evolved. I would part take in fundraising events, which included the Christmas bus. This is where a group of community volunteers would go out during the Christmas period on a festively decorated bus to raise funds for the local hospice. This event was a roaring success every year as people loved to see the bus and always knew it was for a good cause therefore there was always immense participation. I would also help out at organising such events, that included many other occasions such as coffee mornings. As a whole, being a volunteer for this charity was overwhelmingly rewarding with the joy and happiness it brought to others.

A sales associate at Gilt Edged Highland and Formal wear. Over the past few of years I have gained extensive experience within the service sector by fulfilling many roles within my position. From the initial training on kilt fitting to promoting the business via social media, Gilt Edged brings forward a variety of challenges on a daily basis within my working role. This has allowed me to acquire a range of interpersonal skills. An important part of my role includes representing the company through various social events and exhibitions around Glasgow. These events allow me to showcase excellent customer service skills in a fast paced environment, boost revenue for the business and spread an awareness of the company's identity. As a keen employee this is something I take great pride in advocating, as I thoroughly enjoy being an asset to the company.
