Served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Curious Comedy Productions, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Collaborated with the other board members to develop a board handbook, organization policies and an org chart. Developed internal best practices for financial management procedures and redesigned the QuickBooks file to align with the new processes, workflows and reporting requirements. Developed and prepared key management reports to measure theater's financial health across outreach programs, fundraising, concessions/bar, training center, productions and rentals. Prepared and presented financial summaries, trend analyses and cash flow projections at quarterly and annual board meetings. Developed budgets for board approval and a working budget to reflect year-to-date performance against budgeted amounts. Volunteered as part-time stand-in Business Manager between December 2012 and October 2013. Trained Director of Operations and Managing Director on full accounting cycle within QuickBooks, processes, procedures, and employer responsibilities. Updated employee time sheet log to record labor costs by activity type. Transitioned payroll reporting duties to a web-based payroll processing service, which eliminated common payroll reporting errors and penalties and further reduced administrative time by 30% each week. Negotiated 12 months free service, which saved more than $1,500. Managed the transition of the theater's outdated point-of-sale system to a web-based point-of-sale solution with iPads which saved thousands of dollars in hardware, software and merchant service fees. Managed integration between online POS system and QuickBooks to eliminate hours wasted on manual data entry, reconciliation and corrections. Managers gained live-time, accurate and clear visibility of concession/bar sales and the overall impact on the financial health of the whole organization through trend analysis reports and manager dashboards.
