While working here I enjoyed interacting with the patients and building relationships with them, which began my interest in the customer service industry. As a dietary aid I was responsible for assisting the cook in the preparation of the meals, setting up patient trays and helping keep track of special orders & individual dietary requirements, serving the dining room, as well as all cleaning responsibilities in both the dining area and kitchen.

As a dietary aid I was responsible for assisting the cook in the preparation of the meals, setting up patient trays and helping keep track of special orders & individual dietary requirements, serving the dining room, as well as all cleaning responsibilities in both the dining area and kitchen.

As a server my job was to of course serve guests in my section, help roll silverware when needed, and complete assigned daily cleaning responsibilities. When I was a pantry line cook my duties included cooking, the cleanliness of my line, and assisting the other cooks in the cleaning responsibilities of the entire restaurant at the end of the night. As a host my job was to greet guests and escort them to their table, introduce their server, and assist them when needed as well as the cleanliness of the dining area and restrooms, and rolling silverware. As a food runner my job was to take tables their food as soon as it was ready, and make sure they didn't need anything else. The cleaning responsibilities were almost the same as the host, but I was responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen area. As you can see I worked almost every position at the restaurant so my skill set is very broad.

I was responsible for collecting past due balances on HSBC and Orchard Bank credit cards. In my first 3 months I won 2 awards for the best part-time employee and collecting on the most accounts. All part timers were unfortunately laid off but my manager called me a couple weeks later and brought me with him to the law firm. My responsibilities remained the same there, but we were unfortunately laid off again a couple months later.

While attending Hilliard Davidson I was accepted into a very selective mentorship program. There I was able to work with learning disabled children by tutoring them throughout the school year. Since I had chosen psychology as my career interest, I decided I wanted to work with children who struggled with mental disabilities. This helped expand my experience in teaching and addressing all types of learning styles, as well as building my leadership skills.
