Intern - Public Affairs (Enterprise Community Development)
Bloomington/Normal, Illinois Area
Summer internship at State Farm’s Corporate Headquarters during which I worked with the Enterprise Community Development Team on projects focused around State Farm Bank investments and sponsorships. The lead project I worked on was a partnership between State Farm Bank and Univision, a prominent Spanish TV network, to host and coordinate a series of 11 Financial Literacy Town Halls for Latino communities across the country. Collaborated with marketing, legal, public affairs and bank executives throughout the company to plan and execute these town hall. Attended and co-coordinated the initial event in New York City. Prepared the beginnings of an application for a PR award for this program, which included extensive research and consolidation of previous research regarding the importance and need of financial education of the Latino customer market. This project went on to win a Silver Anvil Award in its inaugural year and has continued to be a successful outreach tool for State Farm Bank and Agents.

Intern - Convention & Travel
Bloomington/Normal, Illinois Area
Summer internship at State Farm’s Corporate Headquarters during which I worked within the Convention and Travel department. I was able to see and assist with all of the aspects of the department. I attended department and interdepartmental meetings, made arrangements for group travel, dining and entertainment. I conducted research for hotels, offsite venues and activities for a meeting of 1,000 people. I traveled to San Francisco to assist one of the planners for a conference. I also compiled and verified details for an upcoming National Convention for 30,000 attendees through the creation spreadsheets with all of the hotel and conference rooms that had been booked and paid for, the rooms and amenities that we had been compensated and created a guidebook that would be used for the exhibit portion of the event.
