Responsible for managing the urban issues portfolio, which covers a broad range of policy and program areas, including relationships with municipalities and services managers across Ontario. Provide superior policy development, research and analytical and strategic planning to advance OFIFC urban Aboriginal issues and objectives. Develop and maintain critical strategic relationships across governments, Friendship Centres and beyond through policy support. Generated over a million dollars in new investments for Friendship Centre through successful grant applications and advocacy efforts. Involved in large scale research projects and served as the lead researcher and author on research reports, policy submissions to all levels of government.

Conducted extensive secondary research including literature reviews and environmental scans. Developed a multi-jurisdictional analysis, which informed the development of Best Practices regarding regulatory training practices for the Federal Treasury Board Secretariat. Analyzed complex regulatory issues into succinct policy briefs. Managed stakeholders, including academics, industry and non-profit leaders, in the development of large SSHRC-CURA proposal.

Responsible for developing and managing research materials, which informed key aspects of the claims negotiation processes. Analyzed and applied complex claims valuation methodologies in settling claims. Developed and prepared extensive research reports for senior management. Engaged with Aboriginal and government stakeholders through the negotiation and claims process. Prepared meeting minutes for negotiation meetings as required.
