* Projects included: * Research into developmental use of Virtual Learning Environments &videoconferencing in both Modern Language teaching and training of Modern Language teachers. * Creation and delivery of pilot DCSF ‘French Booster Course’ for trainee teachers and development of the online equivalent programme for national roll-out. * Creation and development of Language Resource Library to assist trainees in raising the quality of their teaching.

Preparation, delivery and assessment of CACHE, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course.

Day to day support of Teach First teachers in order to maximise pupil achievement, aspirations and access to opportunities through a combination of school visits, one-on-one reflective conversations and structured support when necessary. - Management of relationships with participants and key stakeholders to ensure the programme’s effectiveness and integrity. - Creation and delivery of individual support plans for participants with specific needs. - Participation in the delivery of an effective QTS training programme and coherent support structure for Teach First teachers throughout the 2 year programme in liaison with University Tutors and School Mentors. - Collaboration with national partners in design and delivery of an integrated programme of national and regional Leadership Development events for participants. - Specific project management roles including: structure and delivery of North West subject specific training days and Professional Learning Days for second year participants. Input into both national and regional Summer Institutes.

* French and Spanish Teacher: North Manchester High School for Girls * Provision of high quality teaching and learning for 11-16 year olds resulting in MFL as school’s highest achieving department at Key Stage 4 – 91.6% A /C. * Lead role in local area training focusing on use of ICT in the classroom including use of new software, blogging, podcasting and interactive voting kits. * Introduction of department wide initiatives, including production and implementation of a standard, end of module review and high quality thinking skills resources and training. * Organisation and implementation of European Languages Day celebrations in which pupils were given the chance to sample a new language with native speakers. * Successful application for funding as part of the Investors in People initiative and delivery of intensive staff Spanish club, ab initio to GCSE in one year.
