Professor of Pharmacology and Health Economics, teaching undergraduates and graduate students about clinical pharmacology and health technology assessment. Head of the research group in pharmacology and toxicology of the faculty of Medicine, Universidad de Antioquia, with more than 150 papers published on pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenetics, Pharmacoeconomics, and respiratory medicine.

- Build new, modify existing, or review Health Economic (HE) deliverables (cost-utility, budget impact, and other HE tools) for use in HTA submissions globally - Act as a primary point of contact for guidance, advice, and support on HE deliverables - Conduct quantitative health economics analyses (cost-utility, budget impact) to inform HTA and pricing strategies from early on in asset development working with partners across GMAP. - Build tools and help establish standards to improve efficiencies within the gHTA team

Support the design and conduct of systematic reviews to high (publishable) standards and to agreed deadlines, in order to support national health policy development and evaluation. Act as either lead and at times second reviewer, working closely with a senior researcher and service topic/content experts , policy customers, and methods experts where necessary. Write up the systematic reviews clearly for a variety of audiences – NHS, academic (i.e. journal articles), and the general public. Present the findings of the reviews, or the required innovations in review methods, to relevant audiences e.g. at academic conferences or stakeholder events. Keep up to date with current NHS structures, policies, networks and management practices and help identify potential topic or service experts/managers as advisers to our reviews. Identify opportunities and manage national stakeholder consultation within the evidence synthesis. Support and help organise expert stakeholder/adviser engagement meetings or other complementary engagement activities.

● Work with researchers on health economics research projects, review, summaries the published literature; prepare case reports, draft of health economics analysis plans, reports; conduct analyses on economic/clinical data; and interpret findings. ● Manage own academic research and administrative activities. ● Adapt and develop new research projects, in collaboration with other team members. ● Analyze the data. Contribute ideas for new research projects. ● Develop ideas for research income, and present research proposals to senior researchers. Collaborate in the preparation of research publications, and conferences. ● Present papers at conferences or public meetings. ● Carry out collaborative projects with clinical collaborators, colleagues in partner institutions,and research groups. ● Contribute to the wider academic activities of the NDPH (including teaching, student mentoring/supervision), participate in training.
