Jeff Guthrie

Developing new technologies and new products related to the use and exploitation of Potential Energy and Kinetic Energy in both consulting and research settings.

I have accepted a position as a graduate student researcher where I will assist other students and faculty with various research projects. I will focus my research on the effects of vessel geometries in resonant acoustic mixing. I am also involved in metal additive manufacturing research projects involving stainless steel and titanium alloys.

I have worked on several different research projects while working with the Montana Tech Advanced Manufacturing team. Some of these research topics include additive manufacturing, resonant acoustic mixing, elemental powders, and computer numerical controlled machining.

I served as a Montana Tech prospector assisting the Admissions office in the recruitment of students. I gave several campus tours and assisted in several recruitment events throughout my time as a prospector. The experiences I had in this position allowed me to grow as a leader and an effective communicator.

Assisted in upholding the cleanliness of the university's gym. This was a part-time job during my first two years of college. It allowed me to build strong relationships and have an appreciation for the work that other people do behind the scenes.

I helped with the demolition and installation of mechanical systems in several different projects. This was a summer position over the course of two summers. I gained valuable first-hand experience in the construction field, and I was able to learn more about engineering and how it is applied in different industries.

I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree, graduating with High Honors.
