Medical Education - Program Coordinator @ Sidra Medicine
About
I am currently working as a Program Coordinator in Medical Education at Sidra Medicine, where I play a vital dual role supporting both the Library and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) administrative functions. Through my academic, professional, and personal experiences, I have developed strong skills in adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving; qualities that guide me in both fields. In the Library, I support day-to-day operations including processing orders, managing new acquisitions, cataloging, subscription renewals, and serials check-in. I maintain print and special collections, assist patrons such as doctors, nurses, and researchers with locating information, and track the circulation of materials. I consistently look for new and creative ways to enhance library efficiency and improve user experience. On the CPD side, I work closely with Specific Planning Committees (SPCs) on new and existing applications submitted through the Department of Health Professions (DHP). I support accredited activities by providing on-site assistance, managing CloudCME attendance, coordinating evaluation feedback, ensuring faculty disclosures, acknowledging commercial support, and ensuring full DHP compliance. Flexibility and adaptability remain my greatest strengths in navigating the fast-paced demands of CPD coordination. Before pursuing librarianship, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and hold a professional license in the Philippines, a background that continues to inform my work in healthcare education. Outside of work, I am an avid reader often found with a book in hand; whether at home, in cafés, or at the Qatar National Library (QNL). I share my reading journey through reviews on Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/shhh_jeanisreading) and on my Bookstagram (https://instagram.com/shhhh_jeanisreading?utm_medium=copy_link). I am also proud to serve as an official Bookfairy (http://ibelieveinbookfairies.com/) in Qatar, helping spread the love of reading within the community. When I’m not “librarianing,” I’m usually at home or at the park with my dogs, LC and Lucky. I love cooking, rearranging my space, and discovering stories that linger long after the last page. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and am excited for this new phase of growth, embracing my love for books, libraries, and everything in between.
