Following largely in Robert Flaherty's footsteps, holding the belief in the camera's ability to allow us to see beyond our first look - beyond preconceived ideas - into the emotion of the subject, human or not. Filmmaking is not about something as much as it is a journey for the observer, where that journey ends is something different for everyone. Still a fan of film but also sees the benefit of digital. Jay's directing style incorporates all aspects of the film from scripting to music composition. Jay currently produces films from studios and offices in Durango, Colorado.
