Responsible for oversight of nearly 100,000 railcars owned & leased by our customers, focusing on: Assisting Car Owners/Shippers navigate evolving rules & requirements Maintaining a database on mechanical specifications, repair history, fleet information, and lease data on railcars, including tank cars (lined & unlined in hazardous and non-hazardous service), flat cars, box cars, covered or open hoppers (lined and unlined), and pressure differential hoppers (lined, food grade, unlined). Utilizing RAILINC's various applications, such as Railsight, UMLER, EHMS, Find.Us and DDCT. Communicating with repair facilities to ensure their capabilities and certifications match the requirements of the defects on the car. Ensure repair facilities offer quick repairs, good pricing, and are located in logical areas with respect to empty mileage, mileage equalization, and reverse route credits incurred during loaded movements. Coordinating and troubleshooting with mobile repair crews whenever permanent repairs can be completed in the field, or temporary repairs are required to meet AAR interchange rules & FRA regulations. Compile documentation for shops to ensure shop workflow is smooth & in compliance with FRA regulations (OTMA's, certificates of construction,engineering drawings, SDS's, fluid sealing materials, etc) Review estimated repair costs from repair facilities to ensure costs and repairs are appropriate, required, and competitively priced (per AAR field manual rules or customer specified rules). Provide estimated repair costs to multiple parties based upon lease-dictated responsibilities. Document and store forms and photographs required for either AAR or FRA purposes (OTMA's, qualification documents, root cause analysis reports, etc) Issue counterbilling invoices for Rule 95 & 107 carrier damage, and handle exceptions according.
