Provide senior leadership, direction and coordination to a team of five staff for fundraising strategies, marketing, branding and communication that enables the foundation to support its charitable mission and programmatic efforts of the Henrico County Public Schools. I bring 25 years of nonprofit executive management and philanthropy experience to the position of Interim co-CEO while providing leadership, direction and coordination for all strategies and activities. Applying an extensive senior executive leadership and fundraising background to include organization executive management, budget management, marketing, communications, team building, volunteer management (including working with boards), major gift solicitation, special events, corporate sponsorships, donor cultivation, extensive relationship building and program expansion to HEF has exponentially grown the annual budget from just under one million dollars ($1,000,000) in October of 2017 to over ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to date. During this same time, staff grew from 5 to over 120+ team members with 17 of those comprising the core staff responsible for direct program oversight, grant management, fundraising, and HEF administration; the remainder provide program delivery services. I have raised over $23 million since joining the HEF team in October, 2017 through continued cultivation and stewardship of major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, sponsorships, and planned giving. A constant champion of the HEF mission, I continue to provide overall strategic direction, execution and management of the foundation.

Bringing 25 years of philanthropy and nonprofit management experience to the position of Chief Development Officer for Henrico Education Foundation. Provide leadership, direction and coordination for all fundraising strategies and activities that enable the foundation to support its charitable mission and the programmatic efforts of the Henrico County Public Schools . Responsible for the continued cultivation and stewardship of major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, sponsorships and planned giving raising more than $23 million since 2017.

As the Director of Development, responsibilities include championing strategic priorities and facilitating key partnerships while securing private funding to support the programmatic efforts of the Henrico County Public Schools. In this role, I provide overall strategic direction, execution and management of a comprehensive financial development program. This work includes planning and implementing successful campaigns and an endowment to ensure a strong financial foundation for the future.

Provided leadership and management of leadership events in Virginia and West Virginia. Responsible for creating and implementing a successful annual fundraising campaign through prospect development, the cultivation of relationships, and the stewarding of individuals, businesses, corporations, and foundations. Partners with volunteers and committees to ensure that all fundraising and budgetary goals are met. Select Accomplishments • Provided strategic guidance and exceptional stewardship of individual giving donors and leadership event participants, with gifts totaling over two million dollars during tenure. • All leadership events in 2016 & 2017 exceeded fundraising goals • Re-established and nurtured connections with communities that had undergone a realignment with the National MS Society leading to re-engaged volunteers and donors

Provided leadership and guidance to the foundation’s Board of Directors as a consultant. Assisted the Board of Directors with day-to-day operations, marketing, management, fundraising, board governance, community relations, public presence and program management. The foundation secures funding to support innovative learning opportunities for Goochland County Public School students and is an independent, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Provided leadership to the Goochland Family YMCA, a strong YMCA with extraordinary community support, a dedicated strategic-thinking 15 member Board of Managers and a highly effective team comprised of 7 full-time and 90 part-time staff. Led the day-to-day operations of the rural facility with an indoor/outdoor pool complex, 3,829 members and an operating budget of $1,563,662. Select Accomplishments: • Increased membership 75% - from 2,189 members to 3,829 members. • Increased revenue 32.8% - from $1,171,773 to $1,563,662. • Raised $1,176,671 in grants and philanthropy for the annual campaign through cultivation and stewardship between board members/volunteers and key donors. • Strengthened the YMCA board through the recruitment and development of key community leaders including top level government and corporate executives. • Collaborated with the Goochland County Public Schools to take ownership of their Tender Tots pre-school resulting in a successful, student focused community program. • Coordinated youth sports services for families and students with community groups, including schools, businesses, civic organizations, churches and other non-profit organizations. • Created a school learning community in partnership with the Goochland County Public Schools to enrich students’ skills and talents through the implementation of learn to swim and after-school literacy programs, tutoring and STEM curriculum taught by certified teachers. • Ensured the continued growth of the YMCA through the development and implementation of a successful strategic business plan working with the board, staff and volunteers. • Managed a cohesive staff and leadership teams inclusive of board members and staff.

Responsible for the operations of all Parks and Recreation programs and facilities including over 500 acres of parkland, 10 miles of trails, ball fields, two community recreation centers with a gymnasium, fitness center, pottery/ceramic studio and facility with 12 classrooms. Managed and supervised 10 full time/part time permanent staff. Select Accomplishments • Developed and managed an ongoing capital improvement plan to include complete fitness center renovation inclusive of showers, locker rooms and HVAC upgrade, new soccer fields, baseball fields and skateboard parks. • Developed and delivered 22 new summer camps with over 400 community youth participating. • Introduced a user-friendly program guide to assist in interest and participation of community members of all ages. • Served as member of the Virginia Recreation Park Society, Western Region Chair Elect. • Appointed to Youth Advisory Council by Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors.

Supervised 6 permanent staff, 128 seasonal contractors, instructors and volunteers. Developed dynamic athletic and recreation programs/camps for Fluvanna County citizens. Scheduled all athletic fields and responsible for all athletic facilities and field maintenance. Select Accomplishments • Wrote a successful grant that secured a full-time federally funded AmeriCorp position to provide services to at-risk youth. • Developed a public/private venture with local companies including an indoor pool at a health fitness center, Wal-Mart Distribution Center and the UVA Medical Center. • Organized, planned, and implemented new ‘cutting edge’ programs that doubled existing revenues. • Accrued in-kind and cash sponsorships of over $20,000.

Developed, implemented, and managed a variety of sports programs designed to meet the needs of youth in the Charlottesville-Albemarle community. Evaluated programs and ensured a positive participant experience. Established successful relationships with county government leaders and local church leaders to use various facilities for YMCA programs. Select Accomplishments • Operating out of a store front, managed and supervised over 400 community volunteers and over 3,000 youth participants. • Raised $25,000 each year to provide financial assistance to under-served youth. • Maintained an average of 2,000 participants in the winter basketball league while supervising over 400 volunteers and over 200 paid personnel for the league.
