The landscape architecture office is part of the engineering department of the municipality the Hague. With a team of 20 designers we focused on the redevelopment of worn out parts of the city. I have worked on a range of projects including the design of parks, plazas and streets. My work as a draftsman included plan drawings, visualizations, technical details and planting schemes. The highlight was my work on the historic park of the Koekamp to make it into a green city entrance.

Together with artists from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and landscape designers from the Yedithepe University in Istanbul I participated in a design challenge. Our goal was to redesign one of the most used spaces in the city: a large waterfront on the Asian side of town. The final design was a merge between a relaxed green park and a transportation hub.

Our class was asked by the muncipality of Stuttgart, Germany, to formulate a new concept for the large industrialized area of the Fills Valley. We designed a route that connects all the important industrial heritage sites and educates the visitor on their rich heritage.

Buro Sant en Co is an office with a large portfolio of landscape design in the Netherlands. The office specializes in medium scale urban projects including parks, squares, streets and city center restructuring. The office operates on various stages of the design process including formulating concepts, design and detailling. During my internship at Buro Sant en Co I worked on diverse projects. Highlights where winning a large acquisition and designing the composition of trees for a international campus in Moscow.

I was the first student from VHL to be allowed to follow a minor at the Rietveld academy. I participated in third year courses at the Inter Architecture department. This deparment approaches the fields of architecture and interior design from an art perspective. During the semester I worked on diverse spatial projects, including an architectural assignment, sculpture class and a urban design project. At the end of the semester my work for the urban design project was exhibited at the Van Eesteren Museum, Amsterdam. Activities and Societies: Architecture excursion Bauhaus, Germany Bauhaus was the main topic of the architecture theory class during my semester at the academy. We were engaged in the subject by research and discussions. At the end of the semester we went on excursion to the significant structures of the Bauhaus movement in Weimar and Dessau.

The major is focused on large scale design projects in diverse contexts (urban, rural). Global themes are incorperated in the design such as sustainablity and climate change. The student formulates his own assignment and speci es his own project boundaries. Every project has a development strategy to divide funding over time. Activities and Societies: Head of promotion committee Arboricultura As a head of the promotion committee of student club Arboricultura I organized the promotion of student events and parties. We made posters and organized promotion stunts.
